Because of its location between the sea and the
mountains, it is possibile to observe in the reggina cooking the
different culinary influences in both traditional and more elaborate
dishes. In both of the cases though it is the vegtables that are the
base for many creations, (aubergine pie, roasted peppers, filled
peppers and tomatoes, pumpkin flowers fritters).
It is also famous for its confectionery, (nougat, tartine di
sanguinaccio, bergamot cakes, jams, almond pastries), and home made
ice creams.
