Routes > Reggio

"Italy’s most beautiful km". This is the definition that Gabriele D’Annunzio gave to the promenade of Reggio Calabria. It is one of the most evocative in the world thanks to the spectacle of the Strait, the facing Messina and Etna. But the particularity of the promenade (Lungomare) is also given by the secular plants that domain the flower beds: magnolias, dates, banana trees and ficus. In less than half a hour it is possible to move from the mild climate of the coast to the cooler one of Aspromonte and of its main touristic centre: Gambarie. With more than 10km of tracks and climbing systems, it’s one of the favourite destinations of calabrian and sicilian skiers.
